Where is the youth heading? This question is not a complaint repeated by adults in every age. It is a question about the future of the homeland. A society that loses its youth does not only lose a generation. It loses courage, production, memory and tomorrow.
Our history shows a different youth. Fatih was not only a name in a conquest story. He represents a young mind raised with responsibility, knowledge, discipline and ideal. Against that image, today we sometimes see a youth that cannot decide, cannot endure, cannot carry a burden and cannot look beyond comfort.
The family and spoiled weakness
Love in the family is a mercy, but love without responsibility can weaken a child. When every burden is removed, every wish is met and every discomfort is treated as a disaster, the child grows without muscles of patience. Then life feels too heavy.
Parents should protect children, but protection is not doing everything for them. A young person must learn duty, waiting, effort, respect and consequence. Otherwise the world outside the home becomes shocking.
Education and specialization
Education that loads everything onto a young person's back without direction can also exhaust him. We need depth, not only crowded schedules. A young person should discover a field, specialize, produce and feel the dignity of mastery.
Not everyone will be the same. Some will be engineers, some teachers, some craftsmen, some artists, some scholars. The important thing is to raise people who do their work well and serve the country with honest skill.
Media and friends
Media can become a septic tank pouring waste into the mind. Empty fame, vulgar language and useless entertainment steal attention and shame. Yet works that remind history, such as Dirilis and Payitaht, show that media can also awaken memory and ideals when used well.
The circle of friends is just as powerful. A good friend lifts. A bad friend drags down. Youth rarely falls alone and rarely rises alone. Families and teachers must care about the environments where young people spend their hearts.
Responsibility for the homeland
If we do not raise responsible, moral and patriotic generations, others will use their energy for their own plans. A young person without direction becomes material for markets, ideologies and screens. A young person with ideals becomes a builder.
If youth slips, the homeland slips. If youth stands, the homeland stands stronger. Therefore the question "where is the youth heading" is also the question "where are we taking them?" The answer must be given with family, school, media, friendship, work and faith together.
